drugsdrugsdrugs: A theatrical performance about intoxication, risk, and conscious decisions
Why do we intoxicate ourselves? What effects and risks are associated with different substances? And is there a right to intoxication? The performance drugsdrugsdrugs addresses these questions on November 4, 2026, at the Laut Klub Braunschweig. The theater collective Schrödinger combines acting, music, scientific impulses, and socially critical reflection into an immediate stage experience for curious people aged 16 and over.
Between enlightenment and theatrical art
The production approaches the topic of substance use not with a raised finger, but with an open, playful dramaturgy. On stage, an incomplete substance (non-)use guide arises, linking effects, risks, means, practices, mindset, and motivation. Thus, theater becomes a movement of thought: the audience views familiar societal patterns from an unusual perspective.
A socially critical performance with musical energy
The artistic direction and performance are led by Florian Arndt and Rebecca Zechiel. Maximilian Ruschig complements the performance with music and performance, while Merle Delling and Jannick Stühff shape the dramatic structure. Johanna Denecke is responsible for mediation, and Jakob Stühff is responsible for technical implementation. The interplay of language, body, music, and space creates a concentrated theater atmosphere, where information and stage art intertwine.
Direction, dramaturgy, and professional perspectives
The production focuses on a scientifically founded yet entertaining engagement with a topic that touches many areas of life. Professional support comes from Dr. Gernot Rücker, the Drobs Braunschweig, and eclipse e.V. In cooperation with the youth center Mühle Braunschweig and KuK-BS e.V., the performance opens the theater space for questions of self-determination, responsibility, and conscious decisions.
A compact theater evening at Laut Klub
The performance starts at 20:00, with entry beginning at 19:30. The duration is approximately 60 minutes. The Laut Klub transforms into an immediate play venue where acoustics, closeness, and audience reactions become part of the stage experience. Admission costs 5 euros and is only available at the box office.
