Schedule 2025/2026: today, 2026, and upcoming dates

Those looking for the program of the Comedy at the Old Town Market today will land directly at the 2025/2026 season, which is clearly displayed by dates on the official schedule preview. The website allows users to specifically check by date and quickly find out what is playing on a particular evening. This focus aligns with the frequent search queries surrounding Comedy at the Old Town Market today, schedule 2026, and schedule: visitors not only want to know the name of the venue but also want to know which play is currently running, which production is coming next, and whether a spontaneous visit is worthwhile. For the spring and summer 2026 period, the stage will showcase a very diverse mix of comedy, music evenings, and guest performances. Among the planned titles are DER RAUB DER SABINERINNEN GEHT SCHIEF! from March 5 to April 12, 2026, EIN ZIMMER, KÜSSE, BAD from April 17 to May 22, 2026, I walk the line – Johnny Cash on April 18, 2026, The Golden Time of Swing on April 19, 2026, Nur die Harten komm’ in Garten! Helm ab im Beet! on April 26, 2026, BEATLES AN BORD from May 28 to July 5, 2026, Ich hasse Dich - heirate mich! from August 5 to 30, 2026, and WEIBER - A hot girls' night from August 14 to 16 and 21 to 23, 2026. Already at the end of 2025 and in the first quarter of 2026, titles like Mehr Schein als Sein or Ein Sechser mit Nebenwirkungen and Endlich allein supplemented the schedule. This mix shows that the venue has a broad understanding of the term comedy: classic farces, modern comedies, musical themes, and full-length entertainment for an audience expecting variety. Particularly helpful is that the website not only relies on seasonal overviews but also provides individual play pages with synopses and dates. This creates a search and booking experience that works for both spontaneous theater fans and planned group visits. ([komoedie-bs.de](https://www.komoedie-bs.de/spielplan/spielplanvorschau))

Opening hours, tickets, and vouchers at the box office

For inquiries such as opening hours, tickets, or vouchers, the official service page of the Comedy at the Old Town Market is the most important point of contact. The box office is open on weekdays with varying hours: Mondays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each with an evening box office, Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM also with an evening box office, and on Sundays and public holidays with an evening box office. On days without performances, the box office closes at 7:00 PM, and the evening box office generally opens 90 minutes before the performance begins. This is important for visitors planning last-minute visits, pickups, or spontaneous bookings. Tickets and vouchers can be purchased at the box office located at Gördelingerstraße 7 or online, with additional fees possibly applying when using the webshop. The subscription area is also clearly laid out: For the 2025/2026 season, a large subscription with seven pieces is offered, including fixed seat selection and the option to use preferential prices. The single ticket page also lists the current price levels for Tuesday to Thursday as well as Friday to Sunday and public holidays; it also notes that there are usually no performances on Mondays. For discounts, certain groups receive a reduction, but special events, premieres, guest performances, and New Year's Eve are excluded. So, if someone is looking for Comedy at the Old Town Market tickets, vouchers, or the perfect gift, they will find a thoughtful solution with direct visit service, online availability, and classic theater ticket purchasing. This is particularly attractive for spontaneous gift ideas, as a voucher can easily be transformed into a theater evening in Braunschweig. At the same time, the best seat booking makes it comfortable for couples, families, or small groups, as contiguous seats are automatically assigned. Directions and parking around Gördelingerstraße

The Comedy at the Old Town Market is centrally located in the Braunschweig city center, and this shapes the search terms around directions and parking. Officially, the theater is located at Gördelingerstraße 7, 38100 Braunschweig, so very close to the Old Town Market and other city center points. The website describes the access from several directions very specifically: From the A 2, take the Braunschweig-Nord interchange onto the A 391 towards Braunschweig/Salzgitter, later via the A 392 and Celler Straße to Radeklint; similar routes are explained from other directions via the A 39 and A 395. For guests who do not drive into the city center daily, this is helpful because the Comedy at the Old Town Market is in an area where city traffic, pedestrian zones, and parking garages come together closely. When it comes to parking, the theater mentions several options with different opening hours: Parking garage Karstadt/Galeria at Schützenstraße 4, Parking garage Lange Str. Nord/PARKMAXX next to the ASTOR Film Theater, Parking garage Süd (Grüner Löwe) at Lange Str. 4, Parking garage Wallstraße, underground garage Eiermarkt, Parking garage Steinstraße at Bankplatz, and underground garage Packhof. Some of these facilities are open 24 hours a day, while others have limited access times, such as the parking garage Karstadt/Galeria or the Packhof. This overview is particularly valuable for evening performances, as it breaks down the search for parking at the Comedy at the Old Town Market into real, usable parking spaces. Those who park centrally can reach the theater on foot in a short time and can start the evening relaxed. The location is also attractive for visitors from the region who want to combine a theater evening with a city stroll, as culture, gastronomy, and old town atmosphere can be directly combined. This creates a practical visiting framework that contributes not only to the theater itself but also to the entire urban environment. Seating plan, seats, and theater bar in the house

The Comedy at the Old Town Market answers many questions about the seating plan and the seats already online. The website has a current seating plan as a PDF, allowing visitors to see how the seating is arranged before purchasing. Particularly relevant is the best seat booking: The system automatically selects the best available contiguous seats within the desired price category. This information is valuable for families, couples, or groups, as the Comedy explicitly only allocates contiguous seats. So, when searching for Comedy at the Old Town Market seating plan or best seats, the answer is not only an image of the auditorium but also a clear booking process. The single ticket page supplements the seating plan with additional seating in rows 13 to 17; these are padded additional seats in the third price category in the stalls, whose seat surface is slightly higher than that of the regular auditorium seating. This gives the visitor a realistic sense of the seating offer and helps in choosing the appropriate category. This is complemented by practical information about the theater bar and the cloakroom. The theater bar opens 90 minutes before the performance begins; outside food and drinks are not allowed, and small snacks and drinks can be purchased before the performance or during the intermission and taken into the auditorium. This makes the visit uncomplicated and at the same time classically theatrical, as the venue understands the evening not only as a performance but as a complete experience. The cloakroom is located on the first floor and opens half an hour before the performance begins; the charge is regularly 1.30 euros per item, for comedy fans 1.00 euro. The restrooms are also located on the first floor. So, those who plan practically know: seating plan, bar, cloakroom, and auditorium are well organized, and this increases the quality of stay. Particularly for visitors who want to spend a longer evening in the city center, such details are often crucial, as they make waiting times, paths, and overall comfort more calculable. History, profile, and special features of the Comedy at the Old Town Market

Historically and dramaturgically, the Comedy at the Old Town Market is more than just another stage in Braunschweig. According to the official website, it is Braunschweig's only completely unsubsidized private theater and, with 306 seats, Lower Saxony's largest private boulevard and entertainment theater. The house was opened on October 2, 2003, in the former premises of the Lupe cinema, formerly Regina, after a three-month renovation by the Hanoverian architect Andreas Römeth. Since its opening, Florian Battermann has been at the helm of the theater and has shaped the artistic and organizational development together with Bettina Battermann and a team. This continuity is an important signal because it shows that the theater has been relying on a stable profile for more than two decades. The schedule features about seven full-length original productions per season, as well as an annual children's theater piece for Christmas; guest performances and comedy and cabaret programs are added. This mix explains why search queries like Comedy at the Old Town Market GmbH, whole men, or Frau Holle concern not only individual pieces but also the overall profile of the house. The stage works with a triad of original productions, guest performances, and co-productions, which is intended to secure the existence of the house in the long term. At the same time, the schedule is supplemented by well-known faces: In recent years, Jeanette Biedermann, Petra Nadolny, Tanja Schumann, Andrea Spatzek, Manon Straché, Thomas Held, Ulli Kinalzik, Kalle Pohl, Dustin Semmelrogge, and Jürgen von der Lippe have all appeared on stage. This mix of popular names, classic comedy, and well-curated guest performances makes the Comedy at the Old Town Market a fixed part of the Braunschweig cultural landscape. For visitors, this means reliability: They know they are not visiting an experimental fringe stage but an established private theater with a clear program idea, direct audience engagement, and high recognizability. So, if someone is looking for background, history, and special features, they will find a house that has transformed a former cinema into a modern comedy address and has been successfully present in the heart of the city since 2003. New Year's Eve, subscription benefits, and the perfect gift

Particularly often, gift ideas, New Year's Eve, and subscriptions are associated with the Comedy at the Old Town Market. The website shows that vouchers are available at the box office and online, making them an uncomplicated solution when searching for the perfect gift. Instead of a short-term consumer item, one gives a concrete theater evening, thus an experience with date selection, good location, and clear service structure. This is particularly attractive during the pre-Christmas season or for birthdays, as a voucher can be flexibly used and at the same time creates a real occasion for a visit to Braunschweig. The theater bar, seat booking, and the well-maintained atmosphere of the venue enhance this experience character. For regular guests, the subscription is also interesting: For the 2025/2026 season, a large subscription with seven pieces is offered, which according to the website provides benefits such as a fixed seat, flexible date changes, preferential prices for guest performances, and the option to pass on tickets. This makes the location attractive not only for individual visitors but also for regular theater fans. New Year's Eve, on the other hand, is a specific term in the service area of the theater, as special events, premieres, guest performances, and New Year's Eve are explicitly excluded from certain discount regulations. This shows that the end-of-year performances have a special significance. Those searching for Comedy at the Old Town Market New Year's Eve are usually interested in a festive evening with a theatrical character, and the venue is well positioned for this due to its central location and clear service. Additionally, the location in Braunschweig offers a strong mix of reliable programming, gift options, and easy booking paths. Thus, a single performance quickly becomes a recurring ritual: first select a voucher or subscription, then look for a date in the schedule, check directions and parking, and finally experience a relaxed theater evening with seating plan and bar. This combination of gift, event, and city center location makes the Comedy at the Old Town Market a particularly sought-after place for people who want to experience entertainment in a planned yet personal way.
