ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig | Tickets & Program

The ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig is one of the most important cinema addresses in the city center of Braunschweig, located at Lange Straße 60. The city of Braunschweig lists it as a permanent cinema location for popular films, while the official website provides a continuously updated program. Those looking for events, tickets, or a comfortable cinema evening in the center will find a venue with clear orientation: modern premium cinema, a wide variety of halls, and a ticket system that supports online booking, QR code tickets, ticket machines, and pickup at the box office. With eight halls and a total of 1,793 seats, the ASTOR is large enough for a wide selection of films and compact enough to function as a cultural meeting point in the city. Through its role as a cinema, festival venue, and place for special screenings, it is much more than just a classic multiplex. It is a location where current films, special series, and urban cultural life intersect. ([braunschweig.de](https://www.braunschweig.de/kultur/veranstaltungen/kinos.php?utm_source=openai))

Tickets, Cinema Program, and Events

When people search for tickets or events for the ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig, it almost always comes down to three things: the current program, secure booking, and the right date. This is exactly what the official structure of the house is designed for. The program page shows ongoing screenings and the next film week, and the official program note explicitly states that the cinema week is published every Monday afternoon starting from Thursday. This is particularly helpful for visitors as they can plan early for the new week. Those who book online receive an electronic ticket as a QR code according to the terms and conditions or can print it at a ticket machine or pick it up at the box office if available. This makes the process transparent and lowers the barrier for spontaneous cinema visits as well as for planned evenings with family, friends, or colleagues. For the keyword events, it is also important that the ASTOR not only hosts regular film screenings but also serves as a venue and pre-sale location for special formats. The Braunschweig International Film Festival names the ASTOR as a fixed pre-sale location, and the festival's program pages regularly list the cinema as a venue for special screenings, discussions, and festival dates. ([stage.braunschweig.premiumkino.de](https://stage.braunschweig.premiumkino.de/film/road-trip?utm_source=openai))

Additionally, the cultural integration shows that the ASTOR plays a larger role in Braunschweig's event life than just being a location for current film releases. The city of Braunschweig describes monthly QueerCinema evenings that take place at the ASTOR on the first Monday of each month. This is a clear indication that the venue not only hosts blockbusters but also curated series with thematic profiles. The collaboration with municipal and cultural actors is also well documented: During the summer art time, city marketing worked together with the ASTOR Film Theater on a film and cultural program that combined films, concerts, and festival contributions. From an SEO perspective, these facts are important because they precisely address the search intent behind terms like tickets, program, and events. So, anyone looking for a place where current films, special screenings, and city culture meet will find the ASTOR a reliable address with a regular program flow and dependable ticket logic. Seating, Hall Plan, and Capacity

A central theme for inquiries related to seating plan, hall plan, and seats at the ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig is the clear size structure of the eight halls. According to the published hall overview, the cinema has 8 halls with 117, 151, 152, 116, 287, 246, 280, and 444 seats. This results in a total capacity of 1,793 seats. This distribution is very practical for use, as it allows the venue to accommodate both smaller, concentrated screenings and significantly larger audience evenings. The program pages also show that screenings take place in different halls depending on the date, from Cinema 1 to Cinema 8. This is relevant if visitors want to know in advance which hall they will be in, how large the screening will be, and what atmosphere they can expect at a particular showing. A smaller hall can be suitable for quieter, more intimate film evenings, while the larger halls are particularly suitable for highly demanded titles or festival screenings. For the search terms seating plan and best seats, it is important that the choice of hall is directly linked to the specific program point and that the hall number plays a central role in the booking process. ([bs-net.de](https://www.bs-net.de/i_kino/astor.html?utm_source=openai))

This structure also explains why the ASTOR is perceived as a premium cinema in the urban landscape. Not only the capacity but also the variety of room sizes makes the venue flexible. Those expecting a program cinema with only one hall will instead find a clearly structured multi-hall setup that is oriented towards the actual needs of the audience. The largest hall with 444 seats shows that the venue is designed for high demand, while the smaller halls with just over 100 seats provide space for concentrated film series. This combination is a real orientation signal for visitors specifically searching for hall plans or capacity. In practice, this also means that the atmosphere can vary greatly depending on the film. A premiere, a festival screening, or a popular new release will be experienced differently than a quieter screening in a smaller hall. This gradation makes the location versatile and attractive from an SEO perspective because searchers are not just looking for a cinema but for a specific experience. The ASTOR provides the appropriate spatial basis for that. ([bs-net.de](https://www.bs-net.de/i_kino/astor.html?utm_source=openai))

Access and Parking in Braunschweig City Center

The location of the ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig is one of its greatest practical advantages. With the address Lange Straße 60, the cinema is situated right in the city center of Braunschweig, making it attractive for both walking from the city and arriving by car or from the wider city area. The city of Braunschweig lists ten parking garages in the city center with a total of over 5,000 parking spaces and also provides an overview and a live dashboard for parking garage occupancy. Particularly relevant for the ASTOR is the parking garage Lange Straße Nord, which is listed in the city center overviews. This means that the cinema is not only centrally located but also linked to a well-known parking offer that answers the most important question for many visitors before going to the cinema. So, anyone looking for parking or access will receive a city-documented answer: the venue is located in a densely developed city center area where several parking garages are available in close proximity. For planning, it is also helpful that the city explicitly points out on its parking garage page that opening hours, prices, and payment methods may vary depending on the operator. This makes it clear that checking the parking conditions before the visit remains sensible. ([braunschweig.de](https://www.braunschweig.de/kultur/veranstaltungen/kinos.php?utm_source=openai))

Particularly practical is the proximity of the parking garage Lange Straße Nord, which appears in municipal overviews and in the city traffic logic as a nearby location for the ASTOR. For visitors who want to plan their evening without long distances, this is an important added value. The city center location also allows for combining the cinema evening with a restaurant visit, a walk through the pedestrian zone, or another cultural appointment. This is especially relevant for evening events, as the search for parking spaces in central locations often directly affects the decision to attend. Those who do not wish to arrive by car also benefit from the central city location, as the location on one of the most important city center axes makes the cinema very easy to find. From an SEO perspective, access and parking are therefore not marginal topics but core questions. The ASTOR scores here with a location that is urban, well integrated, and secured by the city's parking structure. Thus, a simple cinema visit quickly becomes a planable city center appointment. Comfort, Accessibility, and Visitor Experience

The ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig is relevant not only because of its program but also because of its visitor experience. The official municipal classification speaks of popular films that can be experienced in the cinema as one wishes. Together with the premium cinema appearance, this creates a clear picture: it is about a comfortable, modern cinema format with high everyday usability. The terms and conditions confirm this professionalism at the service level, as they regulate not only ticket purchases but also the digital sending of tickets, printing at machines, and pickup at the box office. For many guests, this means that the entire process from purchase to entry is clearly structured. Especially during spontaneous visits or higher visitor traffic, such a system is a real advantage. The close integration into cultural series and festival formats also speaks for a house designed for smooth processes and flexible use. So, anyone looking for comfort will find here less the atmosphere of a nostalgic single house but rather a modern cinema focused on visit logic and program breadth. This is particularly interesting for guests who value planable processes and a professional infrastructure. ([braunschweig.de](https://www.braunschweig.de/kultur/veranstaltungen/kinos.php?utm_source=openai))

Regarding accessibility, the Braunschweig International Film Festival provides clear and reliable information: the ASTOR Film Theater is one of the venues that are classified as barrier-free within the festival. This is an important signal for many visitors and shows that the cinema is also focused on accessibility in its event operations. At the same time, the ASTOR in Braunschweig is not only a place for standard screenings but also for educational and cultural formats. The festival uses the venue, for example, for school screenings, workshops, and special film series, which underscores the flexibility of the place. For inquiries related to equipment, comfort, and barrier-free visits, this is crucial: the ASTOR is a functional, large, and clearly organized cinema location that is also open to special target groups and program logics. Whether coming with a group, school, festival audience, or as an individual visitor, one finds a place that meets the common expectations of a modern premium cinema while also functioning as a cultural event space with additional depth. ([filmfest-braunschweig.de](https://www.filmfest-braunschweig.de/en/info-and-services/accessibility?utm_source=openai))

History, Location, and Importance for Braunschweig

The ASTOR Film Theater Braunschweig is now firmly anchored in the cultural profile of the city. The city of Braunschweig naturally includes it in its overview of cinemas, and it regularly appears in the festival calendar as well as in municipal cultural projects as a reliable place for film and encounter. This presence shows that the venue not only functions as a daily screening cinema but also as a stage for special formats. Particularly striking is the connection to municipal collaborations: the summer art time combined popular films, concert recordings, and festival contributions in collaboration with the ASTOR Film Theater. Additionally, it serves as a venue for QueerCinema and as a festival address at the Braunschweig International Film Festival. This creates an image of a cinema that is not isolated in the urban society but is actively integrated into cultural networks. Those searching in Braunschweig for a place where everyday cinema and special programs meet will find it here. For SEO and user interest, this is a strong signal because searchers are not just looking for a hall but for a cultural brand. The ASTOR fulfills this role with a clear inner-city location, high recognition, and permanent presence in the cultural calendar. ([braunschweig.de](https://www.braunschweig.de/kultur/veranstaltungen/kinos.php?utm_source=openai))

The organizational side also speaks to the importance of the venue. The terms and conditions of the official ticket portal explicitly mention not only ticket sales but also the booking of rooms for events. This is an important indication that the building is intended not only as a film venue but also as a flexibly usable event address. For companies, cultural projects, or curated formats, the ASTOR can thus be more than just a cinema: it is a place for planable events in a central location. Furthermore, the festival uses the venue as a regular pre-sale point, which further strengthens its function as a central contact point for film visitors. In combination with the eight halls, the large seating capacity, and the city center location, a very stable position in Braunschweig's leisure and cultural offerings emerges. Those searching for tickets, programs, events, or a specific hall will find the ASTOR a location that convinces both logistically and culturally. The central address, flexible use, and permanent integration into city life make the cinema one of the most visible film addresses in Braunschweig. In principle, everything is fine, but there are a couple of "buts." The seat numbers in the cinema are small and unnoticeable, especially in a dark theater. Also, the commercials before the film last a good 20-25 minutes.

Need more OV shows. The theater is really good but they don't have any offers for the OV version of the movie. Please keep OV shows of Hollywood movies at least once a week.

Nice theater. They will mix the salty and the sweet popcorn if you want them to. When you get a ticket you can splurge for the La-z-boy chairs with their own waitstaff or go cheaper get your own snacks with regular chairs.

Their cinemas are spacious and clean. You have the option to order food while already seated because they have designated staff to take your orders before the start of the movie and serve them immediately. This service is pretty amazing especially if you don't want to line up for ordering popcorn and drinks 🙂
