On October 3, 2026, the historic BÜSSING headquarters in Braunschweig transforms into the starting point for a special discovery experience: During the 8th BÜSSING Elm Tour, historic commercial vehicles of various brands will roll through the Elm, past Wolfenbüttel to the Municipal Museum Schloss Salder in Salzgitter.
Industrial History, Engine Sounds, and Regional Landscapes
The tour combines technical cultural history with a varied route through the Braunschweig region. Departure is at 10:00 AM from the historic BÜSSING delivery yard. The route passes through Klein Schöppenstedt, Cremlingen, Destedt, Hemkenrode, Erkerode, Ampleben, Eilum, Dettum, Mönchevahlberg, Denkte, and Wolfenbüttel, continuing to Salzgitter-Salder.
Along the way, impressive commercial vehicle veterans, regional landscapes, and the autumn scenery of the Elm come together. The convoy makes technical history visible on the road and pays tribute to Heinrich Büssing, the prominent commercial vehicle designer from Braunschweig.
Stop at Schloss Salder
At around 12:00 PM, the tour arrives at the Municipal Museum Schloss Salder. During the stop, conversations, refreshments, and a group photo are on the agenda. The museum is open and offers an appropriate cultural complement to the vehicle show with its exhibition areas on mobility and agriculture.

At about 3:00 PM, the convoy will begin its return trip. The route will take them back through Salzgitter, Thiede, and the A 39 to the BÜSSING headquarters. The return is scheduled for around 4:00 PM. Changes to the route and schedule remain reserved.

Participation in the BÜSSING Elm Tour is free. Historic commercial vehicles of all brands and types are invited to participate actively. For the short highway section, participating vehicles must be approved for highway use. Spectators and photographers are welcome.
