Game over for Uncertainty: More Clarity in Digital Family Life
When Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox have long become part of daily life in children's rooms, parents quickly find more questions than loading bars: Which games are suitable for which age? What do USK and FSK really say? And how can media education be achieved without a raised finger?
Understanding Digital Games
The event is aimed at parents and caregivers of children from elementary school age. The focus is on digital media, age ratings, as well as the opportunities and potential risks of gaming. Practical examples from well-known game worlds make the topics tangible and bring structure to discussions that can otherwise escalate at home between game breaks and screen time.
Tips for Relaxed Media Education
Participants will receive concrete suggestions for discussions with children, joint game decisions, and a competent approach to digital offerings. The goal is not to become a gaming pro but to better understand digital games and to accompany children safely.
The Library as a Media Space
The City Library of Braunschweig brings its experience as an educational and media location. Families will learn how to utilize library services to explore, try out, and classify digital games together. The cooperation with the Media Coordination Braunschweig combines expert knowledge with practical impulses for everyday life.
Conclusion
Game over for Uncertainty! provides orientation around gaming, age ratings, and media competence. Parents and caregivers can expect an informative appointment with understandable examples and practical ideas for family life. Participation is free, but registration is required.
