The curtain rises for a magical picture book cinema in Braunschweig
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the children's library of the Braunschweig City Library will be transformed into a cozy place for pictures, stories, and shared wonder. In the picture book cinema, children aged five and up will experience the story The Little Witch – Trip with Abraxas by Ottfried Preußler and Daniel Napp.
A story that captivates children
Large pictures, familiar characters, and an imaginative narrative create a warm family experience. When the images appear on the screen, curiosity, children's laughter, and many little conversation starters arise. The story invites children to look closely, listen attentively, and develop their own thoughts about the plot.
Age-appropriate fun with pictures and words
The picture book cinema connects reading aloud and visual impressions in a child-friendly way. This learning experience playfully enhances language development, listening comprehension, and joy in books. Children discover new words, follow the storyline, and experience literature as a communal adventure.
Quality time for families
The event provides parents and children with a relaxed break from everyday life. In the children's and youth library, a calm atmosphere is created where imagination, concentration, and shared experiences take center stage. This format is particularly suitable for families who want to combine their first library experiences with a short, varied cultural offer.
Conclusion: Experience stories live
The picture book cinema in the Braunschweig City Library brings a popular children's book world to the screen and makes reading a shared family experience. Families will enjoy half an hour filled with pictures, imagination, and learning fun. Admission is free – a lovely opportunity to come together in the children's library on October 6.
