Next Gen Weststadt brings creative energy to the Braunschweig Weststadt
On October 9, 2026, the project apartment on Eiderstraße, along with the adjacent playground, will transform into an open meeting place for children and teenagers. The free kickoff event of Next Gen Weststadt will focus on trying things together, creative ideas, and a lot of fun.
Get creative, try new things, meet friends
From 14:00 to 17:00, a diverse schedule of activities awaits young visitors. Outdoor games will bring movement into the event experience, while crafting, linocut, bag printing, and the button maker create space for personal ideas. Baking, the speedcup station, or children's tattoos will create a lively event atmosphere where participation is explicitly encouraged.
Play and movement outdoors
On the playground at the corner of Eiderstraße and Warnowstraße, additional activities will provide variety. Archery and various movement games combine physical activity with playful discovery. The event is aimed at children and teenagers aged 7 to 15 years, offering different opportunities for creative, active, and curious guests.
Community as the focus of event planning
Next Gen Weststadt is a joint project of the Federation of German Catholic Youth, the Nature Friends Youth, the Socialist Youth The Falcons, the Protestant Youth, and the Youth Ring Braunschweig. Qualified volunteers from the Braunschweig youth associations will accompany the offerings. Young people of all religions and worldviews are welcome.
Kickoff for regular offerings
The kickoff event marks the start of regular free recreational offerings in the project apartment Eiderstraße 14. From the end of October, open dates for various age groups will follow with creative activities, games, movement, and space for personal ideas. This creates a continuous meeting point for young people in the Weststadt.
Conclusion: Come by and participate
Next Gen Weststadt connects creativity, movement, and community into a varied event experience right in the neighborhood. Those who want to try new activities, implement their own ideas, and meet other young people will find the right place on October 9, 2026. Admission is free, and registration is not required.
