Sustainable Mobility for a Better Future!

From September 16 to September 22, 2026, Braunschweig will host a comprehensive program to promote sustainable and safe mobility. The European Mobility Week offers a variety of activities, information booths, and participatory events that will take place at various locations in the city. The aim is to raise citizens' awareness of environmentally friendly mobility solutions and to present practical alternatives to traditional car traffic.

Program Overview

The week will begin with an opening event at the Schlossplatz, attended by representatives of the city and key players in the mobility sector. Bicycle parades will traverse the city, promoting cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transportation. Visitors can inform themselves about new transport infrastructures and sustainable projects at information booths. There will be special highlights for younger visitors such as a drawing competition and guided bike tours.

Participation and Engagement

This year, all citizens are invited to actively participate in the Mobility Week. Various workshops will provide opportunities to try out new ways of mobility and discuss suggestions for improving urban mobility infrastructure. Another focus will be on safety, with lectures on bicycle technology and safe routes in the city.
