Nordic Jazz and Fine Improvisation at Jazz Friday in KULT
On Friday, November 6, 2026, the Niklas Wohlt Quartet will perform at Jazz Friday in KULT in Braunschweig. From 8:00 PM, a concentrated sound space for modern jazz compositions, atmospheric sounds, and lively improvisation will open in the KULT theater.
Between Calm, Groove, and Scandinavian Expanses
The program includes original compositions by Niklas Wohlt as well as interpretations of German and Scandinavian jazz trios and formations. The music combines a calm, profound base mood with melodic clarity and fine groove. Between open soundscapes and precise synchronization, a stage performance is created that allows space for spontaneous musical dialogues.
A Pianist with Braunschweig Roots
Niklas Wohlt is a pianist, composer, music teacher, and lecturer from Braunschweig. Since 2018, he has been working as a composer and pianist in the modern Niklas Wohlt Trio and Quartet. His musical education and practice range from jazz-rock-pop piano and regional band formations to his own Nordic-inspired compositions. He has already released two EPs with his trio, including the EP Ways from 2023.
Live Atmosphere with a Sense for Subtlety
The concert experience thrives on interplay: piano lines set harmonic impulses, while bass, drums, and other voices broaden and keep the sound in motion. The orchestration remains open enough for improvised turns, while the conduct of the shared musical breath ensures clear contours. Thus, jazz is created that does not rely on volume but operates through presence, acoustics, and audience mood.
Jazz Friday at KULT as a Meeting Point for the Scene
The KULT at Hamburger Straße 273 is one of the established cultural venues in Braunschweig. Jazz Friday brings regional musicians and contemporary jazz projects to the stage in immediate club atmosphere. The Niklas Wohlt Quartet represents a modern, melodic approach between Nordic sound aesthetics, chamber music intricacy, and grooving jazz.
Conclusion: An Evening for Open Ears
Those who appreciate modern jazz, warm piano sounds, and improvised encounters will experience a special concert evening in Braunschweig with the Niklas Wohlt Quartet. The blend of original pieces and selected interpretations promises musical closeness, fine dynamics, and a sound with Nordic expansiveness. Jazz fans should experience this Friday evening live at KULT.
