Nordic Jazz with Braunschweig Touch
On Friday, November 6, 2026, KULT in Braunschweig will transform its stage into a resonance space for contemporary jazz. The Niklas Wohlt Quartet will present its own Nordic compositions as well as interpretations of German and Scandinavian jazz formations starting at 8:00 PM.
Between Melody, Improvisation, and Atmosphere
The music of Niklas Wohlt combines lyrical calm with fine groove and open improvisations. Melodic lines meet modern harmonies as the four musicians shape their interplay with plenty of room for spontaneous developments. The sound remains transparent, warm, and mobile – a concert experience for all who wish to experience jazz intensively and directly.
Scandinavian Soundscapes at KULT
The program is oriented towards contemporary Scandinavian jazz formations. Atmospheric sounds, clear orchestration, and dynamic transitions characterize the stage performance. Between subdued passages and energetic moments, a live atmosphere is created where each instrument unfolds its own character.
Niklas Wohlt: Pianist, Composer, and Music Educator
The Braunschweig pianist Niklas Wohlt has been working as a composer and pianist in the modern Niklas Wohlt Trio and Quartet since 2018. His discography includes the EPs Industrial from 2020 and Ways from 2023. In addition to his concert activities, Wohlt serves as a lecturer for music technology at TU Braunschweig as well as a music teacher.
The regional jazz scene describes his style as calm, profound, touching, and simultaneously groovy. The quartet expands this sound language with Nordic original compositions and individual improvisations.
An Evening for Curious Jazz Ears
The concert is aimed at experienced jazz fans as well as visitors who want to discover modern jazz music in a relaxed club atmosphere. At KULT, concentrated direction, sensitive interplay, and immediate audience mood come together.
Conclusion
The Niklas Wohlt Quartet promises an atmospheric jazz evening filled with Nordic expansiveness, melodic clarity, and spontaneous stage energy. Anyone wishing to experience contemporary jazz not only through listening but in its entire live atmosphere should not miss this evening at KULT.
