20 Years of Gospel Choir Braunschweig: A Hallelujah Full of Energy
The Gospel Choir Braunschweig is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with a special anniversary concert at the Ev.-luth. St. Thomas Congregation. Together with guests from the American gospel scene, the choir combines new songs, beloved classics, and the immediate power of a great live atmosphere.
Gospel Music Between Choral Sound and American Soul Tradition
The focus is on the voices of the Gospel Choir Braunschweig, supported by multi-part arrangements, precise synchronization, and a stage performance that combines spiritual message and musical energy. The concert evening will take the audience through two decades of choral history while simultaneously embracing fresh impulses from the international gospel scene.
International Guests with a Special Musical Profile
Special guest Dr. Erral Wayne Evans is announced. The composer, choir director, and pianist has previously conducted workshops and collaborated multiple times with the Gospel Choir Braunschweig. In his career, Evans has performed with Stevie Wonder, among others. Today, he serves as a musical director in St. Louis, promotes young talents, and is engaged as a mentor for music projects and labels.
Evans will be accompanied by Dr. Jeffrey Coleman from Boston, an experienced worship leader, as well as Carl Watson from St. Louis, a guitarist and songwriter. Joint arrangements, expressive solo parts, and spontaneous improvisations give the anniversary concert its international flair.
Church Space, Acoustics, and Audience Atmosphere
The St. Thomas Church in Braunschweig-Heidberg provides an atmospheric setting for the concert evening. The natural church space allows choir voices, piano, guitars, and solo parts to resonate directly. Between solemn passages, powerful gospel rhythms, and exhilarating highlights, a concert experience is created that invites singing along, clapping, and celebrating together.
An Anniversary for Gospel Fans and Curious Concert Guests
The Gospel Choir Braunschweig is aimed at everyone who wants to experience gospel music, choral singing, and authentic live music. After the concert, a cozy get-together with drinks and snacks is planned. Display boards will provide insights into the history and development of the choir; a newly released information brochure will also be available for purchase.
Conclusion
This anniversary concert brings 20 years of Gospel Choir Braunschweig, American guests, and the emotional power of shared music to the stage. Those who want to not only hear gospel but also experience it as a moving live atmosphere should mark October 10, 2026, and celebrate this musical hallelujah live in St. Thomas.
