Brass Sound with Soul: A Festive Concert at the Emmaus Church
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the brass circle of the Braunschweig Regional Church invites you to a special concert at the Emmaus Church in Braunschweig-Weststadt. Under the title You My Soul, Sing, the evening combines festive brass music with spiritual tradition and invites the audience to sing along.
Radiant Sound Between Trumpets and Deep Voices
As the first brass sounds unfold in the Emmaus Church, an intense live atmosphere is created: radiant trumpets, resounding trombones, and warm deep voices merge into a multifaceted brass ensemble. The acoustics of the church space give the chorales expansiveness and allow every musical line to stand out clearly.
Paul Gerhardt at the Center of the Program
The concert focuses on the work of the hymn writer and theologian Paul Gerhardt. Gerhardt, who lived from 1607 to 1676, is represented in the current hymnbook with 26 songs. Contemporary composers have arranged his chorales in various versions for brass choir. Some of these arrangements will be performed this evening in a festive concert dramaturgy.
Musical Direction with a Clear Signature
The musical direction is taken by the regional brass coordinator Sebastian Harras, and the moderation is by regional chairman Pastor Jens Paret. Their collaboration leads through a program that combines orchestration, sound synchronization, and spiritual expression. Between powerful tutti passages and finely tuned chorale sounds, a concert experience with great emotional range is created.
Participation in Singing Explicitly Desired
The audience is not just a listener. When singing together, the sound of the brass circle merges with the voices of visitors. Thus, the concert becomes a communal evening, where church music, stage performance, and lived musical tradition come together directly.
Conclusion: An Evening of Sound and Community
The brass concert You My Soul, Sing promises festive sound colors, impressive church acoustics, and a special audience atmosphere. Those who want to experience brass music, chorales, and communal singing live will find a charming location for a musical autumn evening at the Emmaus Church.
