Queen in Budapest: Experience rock history on the big screen
An energetic, passionate concert evening filled with iconic Queen anthems awaits the audience at the ASTOR Filmtheater Braunschweig. QUEEN - BUDAPEST brings the legendary concert from the Magic Tour back to the big screen as a restored cinematic experience with a new audio mix.
Freddie Mercury and Queen in a historic live atmosphere
On July 27, 1986, Queen played in front of about 80,000 people at the Budapest Népstadion. The performance made music history: it was the first western stadium rock concert behind the Iron Curtain and one of the last major tour stops with Freddie Mercury as the lead singer.
4K restoration and dynamic sound
The concert film combines historical visuals with modern technical enhancements. A 4K restoration and a dynamic new audio mix bring the stage performance of Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon vividly to the cinema. Lighting, camera work, and sound merge into an intense concert experience.
The great Queen hits on the big screen
The program includes unforgettable songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want To Break Free, and We Are The Champions. The approximately 97-minute film presentation showcases Queen at the height of their stage performance and makes the audience's mood from a historic stadium evening immediately palpable.
A cinema evening for rock fans and music history
The ASTOR Filmtheater translates the dimension of a stadium concert into the concentrated atmosphere of a modern cinema hall. Precise acoustics, large screen visuals, and the distinctive Queen orchestration create an evening between rock archive, concert film, and emotional journey through time.
Conclusion: QUEEN - BUDAPEST promises an impressive reunion with one of the most significant rock bands of all time. Anyone wishing to experience Freddie Mercury's stage presence, Queen's anthemic arrangements, and a historic concert event in exceptional cinema quality should enjoy this evening live at the ASTOR Filmtheater.
